Story

Plant Animal Relationships

"...When you see a Gymea fruit, it means that the whales are coming back down the coast".

Wiradjuri man Darren Charwood tells about the Indigenous Australian plant, Gymea Lily. Darren is a cultural guide at Sydney Botanical Gardens. He is also an artist represented by Boomalli Aboriginal Artist's Cooperative. Darren's passion is to learn and pass on knowledge from his experience in traditional Aboriginal culture and Western science.
